Wythall Parish Council is made up of three wards:

Wythall Parish Council is the most local tier of government within England representing over 14,000 residents
Above Wythall Council is Bromsgrove Council and above that is Worcestershire County Council
The Parish Council has an office in Silver Street where the Parish records are held. There are fifteen Councillors plus a clerk and administration assistant, both of whom are paid employees of the council.

Similarly the Worcestershire County Council is the highway authority, but it consults the parish when it's considering any road scheme, for example the placing of double yellow lines or road improvement schemes

How does Wythall Parish Council Operate?
Wythall Parish Council has 15 Councillors. Council elections occur every four years when the whole council is up for election. The next election will be in May 2003. We also have a clerk and administration assistant.
The full Council meets on the third Thursday of every month except August and December in the Village Hall, starting at 7.30 p.m. The first 15 minutes of every meeting is made over to members of the public who may use this time to raise any issues with the council.
Every year the Parish holds an public meeting on the second Thursday in May.
The Parish Council AGM takes place at the Full Council meeting on the third Thursday in May
The Council has four committees which also meet once a month. Each committee has responsibility for different services. All committee meetings start at 7.30 p.m. at the Council Office in Silver Street. Members of the public are welcome to observe the proceedings.
Minutes of all council meetings may are available to be read at Wythall Library, Wythall Community Association and the Council Office.

Any items that involve policy change or expenditure have to be agreed by the Finance Policy and Resources committee. (first Thursday of each month except August and December)
Managing the: -
Urban Fringe Countryside and Amenities Project (this is an advisory subcommittee to the Public Facilities), through which recommendations on the management of Open spaces within Wythall are made. These include: Beaudesert Nature Park; Public Footpaths; village greens. Highlighting issues with public transport to be passed onto the principal authority ( Worcestershire County Council). Lobbying the principal authority ( Worcestershire County Council) on public transport issues.
Any items that involve policy change or expenditure have to be agreed by Finance Policy and Resources. Managing Street lighting within the Parish, including the recommendation of additional street lighting.
Highlighting highways issues, including potholes, passing these on to the principal authority (Worcestershire County Council) and monitoring their repair.
Acting as a consultation group, passing on the committee's recommendations with respect of highways changes, speed restrictions, traffic calming, new road layouts.
Responsible for reviewing every planning application within the parish, either supporting or objecting to them depending on how they conform with local planning guidance and whether or not they infringe on the green belt. Acting as a consultation group to any central government changes to planning policy.
Parish Council elections take place every four years.
