  • Debra Dallimore conquered her fear of heights to jump from 12,000 feet and raise £2,000 to support the Acorns Children's Hospice.
  • Debra's daughter Eden, aged 10, had respite care at Acorns in Worcester in August, while her family went for their first sun holiday together.
  • Debra was so grateful that she wanted to give something back - so she decided to tandem skydive for the first time in her life, and local companies and supporters have backed her.
  • Her husband Paul's employer, Sanctuary Housing Association, in Castle Street, pledged £500 toward her tandem skydive.
  • Four out of 10 Acorns hospice beds had to be closed earlier this year due to cash problems, and supporters have been working toward re-opening them.
  • Fran Winterbourn, Acorns' community fund-raiser, said: "We rely on the public for 90 per cent of funding, so we are deeply grateful to Debra for helping us support life-limited children." People who would like to support families can call Acorns Children's Hospice on 0800 073 0001, or make a cheque payable to Acorns Children's Hospice, and send it to us at Acorns Children's Hospice, Drakes Court, Alcester Road, Wythall, B47 6JR
